J was born and raised in Southern California area. He attended El Camino Real High School where he got his first taste of film and television production which he studied at UCLA.

J opened JVP Concepts in 1989 and has become well respected in the Los Angeles community for making original video presentations. His reputation for being extremely creative, has landed him such clients as Michael Dell (Dell computers), Lisa Kudrow, Billy Crystal and Dustin Hoffman, just to drop a few names.

According to his employees, J can be a pain to work for and is very demanding, but he allows them to tell him off anytime he is asking too much.

J is married to a beautiful lady, Beverley, also very well respected. She helps manage the business and their son Ben and daughter Ellie.
